I really enjoy black and white portraiture.  Especially really simple portraits like this using natural light.  So, I had an idea to contact pastors in the area that would like their portrait taken for free.  I wrote a bunch of pastors/christian leaders and the only one to respond was Andy McQuitty, lead pastor at Irving Bible Church.  Lucky for him because he got himself a really cool self-portrait.  Didn't cost him a cent.  Nothing wrong with free.

I'm glad I got to do this for Andy because he is such a great pastor, speaker, leader, and representative of the Christian faith for our community.

Karol Welsh says:

That was a very nice gesture on your part. When you give to do something good, so much is given back to you. People notice kindness! Kuddos.

Thanks Karol! I would love to do more of this for the local pastors in the area. It just takes time to set things like this up as most of them are so busy with events and activities at their respective churches. :)

TV on the Radio is one of my favorite bands and since they are not too famous it's cool to get to see them in a small venue like the Lakewood Theatre in Dallas.  I got to see them not too long ago there and they were opened by the Dirtbombs.  Who are the Dirtbombs right?  They are a Detroit punk rock band that have been around for quite some time.  I was really impressed by their performance.  It's always cool when the opening act is really good.

TV on the Radio has a very unique sound that I found about 4 years ago.  I can't really remember how I found them, but I'm always looking to see when they are going to come back to Dallas for a performance.  Check out their website to hear some of their music.

I mostly just do Wedding photography here in the Dallas area, but I always jump at the chance to do some fun portraiture.  Faith is a local model and we got together to exchange our talents. She models for free and I take pictures for free.  It's a pretty good deal I think.  This is one of my favorite pictures from the session.
