The day has finally come and my pictures have made it to Style Me Pretty. I am so excited to get these on my blog and let the cat out of the bag. I worked a bunch of other wedding professionals from the Dallas area to put this shoot together for a feature on Style Me Pretty and we had to wait till they posted first before we could show any of the pictures.

The Team:
Debby Jewesson with Branching Out Events (floral)
Kelly Simants with Sweet Pea Events
Michelle Parks with Elle Parks Photography
Jennifer Claire of Memento Designs
Megan Chumlea at The Aldredge House
Cory from Cocktails & Caviar
and of course me, Hansel Dobbs Photography, behind the camera. Enjoy the photographs and stay tuned for more.

Alyssa and Andrew created a wedding that had their personalities all over it. The most unique feature of their wedding was that they had games set up on the lawn at Arlington Hall including badminton, croquet, and botchiball. They really wanted their wedding to be about having fun and spending quality time with their guests. They wanted it to be a really fun day and I think they accomplished that.

I was reading some tweets the other day and I saw someone mention Vittana and they provided the link, which made it way too easy for me to exercise my curiosity. What I found surprised me. Vittana is a micro-financing website that helps people in developing countries get loans for higher education.
You have to lend a minimum of $25, but along with a bunch of other people; these loans come together and the person is able to get their education. Once they get that education they pay back the loan in full without any interest. Then you can re-lend that money to someone else. It's amazing the difference so little money can make and the coolest thing is that these students aren't looking for handouts; they just need the ability to borrow money, get their higher education, and then pay back the loans. They need someone to trust them and their hard work since they don't have the credit history that most institutions require for such loans.
I'm glad to help as much as I can because I wouldn't have a college education if it weren't for total strangers trusting me and giving me a chance.

This is one of my favorite bridal sessions of all time. Gretchen is picture perfect and is exactly the kind of client I like to work with as well. Gretchen, her Mom, and I had a blast walking around the Farmer's Market downtown taking pictures and chatting about her wedding at the Dallas Art Center in Downtown Dallas as well, which happened this last weekend and I cannot wait to show those pictures as well.

The wedding of Alyssa and Andrew was so sweet and personal to them. They really made the day about the things that really make them happy and it shows in the pictures. They set up games on the lawn at Arlington Hall in Dallas, TX such as croquet, badminton, and botchiball. They had a lot of fun and the day was beautiful. This is one of my favorite pics from the day.
