I'm getting really excited about photography this year with my first wedding of 2010 coming up this weekend and I, like so many artists, want to take my work to the next level. I want each picture to be better than the last. More than that, I want to try new things and watching this video on street photography is very inspirational. I love this stuff!

Jose Villa is an inspiration for any photographer and a huge one for me. His use of film in wedding photography is very eye opening and this interview has really revealed a world of film photography that I need to explore. If you're a photographer, you need to listen to this interview and take some notes. I sure did.
The interview was done by Inside Analog Photo, which has a lot of great interviews that are worth checking out.

Jenny contacted me not long ago about needing some portraits taken for an album to give her boyfriend on their 3-year anniversary. They both attend university in Boston and Jenny is planning on law school upon graduation. She told me straight up that she's uncomfortable in front of the camera, but I think it's hard to tell from the look of these photos. I mean, it's hard to be uncomfortable when you have a dog licking you in the face. :)

What a year huh? The years before 2009 were action packed, but I think 2009 takes the prize for most dramatic. With all of that going on, Laura and I had a great year with the arrival of our first born child and fantastic friendships. We have been so blessed and really look forward to a great 2010 with friends and family.
Professionally, I am really looking forward to documenting the weddings of all of my clients this year. I can't to see all of them on their wonderful day having a blast. It's going to be really fun!
