Paul and Deborah have a wonderful story and an obvious love. They decided to do a first look in order to have some extra time for portraits with their bridal party. The first look photos of Deborah tell it all.

I have to say I love your style. I would like to know how you do some of the post processing on these. My fave was probably the simplet the black n white of just the bride and the old look feel it has.

I have gotten so behind on my blogging, but I am excited to get caught back up. To kick things off here is a picture of downtown Dallas at night from City Place where I covered a wedding recently. My second photographer and I hung out after the wedding to have fun from the top of the building and get some really cool photographs. Enjoy!

Laura and Giles are why I love photographing weddings. Their story is amazing! Laura's family is from South Africa and they moved to Jefferson, TX many years ago while Giles is from Scotland where he grew up and has lived most of his life. But they met while they were both living in California and pursuing their dreams.

They both decided to have a real Texas wedding on Laura's parent's ranch called "Graceland". It was complete with bales of hay, Texas band, Shiner Bock, oak trees, and boots. But Laura and Giles' exquisite style, influenced by their California lifestyle and international upbringing, really upped the ante for those prone to show their Texan roots on the big day.
One of the coolest things about the wedding day was when everyone at the ceremony sang "Love Me Do" by the Beatles. It was funny and sweet at the same time. Where the style really came through is with the suits that Giles' friends were wearing. The hats, ties, shoes, and colors were all so awesome. Everything about the day exuded effortless style with a Texas theme. I'll never forget it.
I am posting way too many pictures, but it's a wonderful story and it's worth hanging around to see.

I'm back again with more pictures. When I did this shoot I rented a Contax 645 and bought some medium format film. Now, I have never shot medium format and it's been 14 years since I shot 35mm film. It was a lot of fun and I was really excited to see what the results were. It's a look that is hard to reproduce digitally and I think it's special. Expensive.............but special.

Here is a picture of the Contax 645 followed by pictures I took with it.
